How we compare AHCC products

NovaHerbs AHCC is featured first for count, serving, and cost per capsule. The other products follow by how complete their labels and prices are.

What is fixed

NovaHerbs AHCC is first because it is the featured choice: 180 capsules, a 2,800 mg AHCC blend per serving, and the lowest cost per capsule among USD bottles here with a known count. The 9.9/10 figure is the Publisher’s Promotional Rating for that offer. Best Choice and Best Value mark the same selection.

How the other ten are ordered

We favored, in combination: a facts panel on an official source, a milligram line that can be quoted, a capsule count, a price that belongs to that count, and whether the brand name appears on the AHCC Association’s identity-tested directory. Missing facts move a product down. We did not award points for marketing adjectives.

  1. Quality of Life. Official supplement facts, a stated per-capsule figure, a 60-count USD catalog price, and a listing on the AHCC Association identity-tested directory.
  2. The Vitamin Shoppe. A clear front-label milligram statement, a 60-count, and a USD price on the brand’s own product record. The facts panel was not fully re-opened.
  3. Swanson. Supplement facts are on the official product page, and the count and USD price are explicit. The panel does not isolate AHCC from the carriers inside the blend.
  4. AOR. Full official product page with a facts panel, count, and price, but the price is in CAD, so it is not mixed into U.S. cost rankings.
  5. Douglas Laboratories. Official label, separate arabinogalactan amount, known 60-count, and a published retail USD price. The blend still includes carriers, and the retail price is high per capsule.
  6. American BioSciences. The brand publishes an ingredient amount and sells the product on its own site, but the price is not clearly matched to a count and the full facts panel was not on the page we read.
  7. Source Naturals. The brand and the 60-capsule label are documented, including blend components. Price transparency is weaker because the official price was not locked to this bottle.
  8. Protocol for Life Balance. Useful official documentation and a clear count, but no confirmed price and an unresolved 600 mg figure.
  9. HPD Rx. A real official product with a visible capsule count and a USD price, but the supply length, milligram basis, and facts panel are incomplete or conflicting.
  10. Olympian Labs. Prices and counts are clear, but the missing milligram amount keeps it last.

What we refused to invent

  • Star ratings, review counts, or scores for the other ten products.
  • Doctor endorsements and “clinically superior” badges.
  • FDA-approved supplement claims. Facility registration is not product approval.
  • A cost per gram of AHCC when the gram is an unspecified or mixed blend.
  • Hands-on use. These overviews are label and page comparisons.

Identity-tested status is the Association’s statement about brands on its directory, checked at ahcc.net/id-tested. It is not our assay, and it does not mean every SKU from that brand was retested for this page.
